Annie of AllDayProject has been chosen as the new host for MBC's year-end music festival "Gayo Daejeon," succeeding Girls' Generation's Yoona.
According to MBC on October 21, Annie will lead this year's Gayo Daejeon alongside SHINee's Minho and Hwang Minhyun. This marks Annie's first official hosting role since her debut.
From Chaebol Heir to Rising Idol
Annie is the granddaughter of Shinsegae Group's Chairwoman Lee Myung-hee and the daughter of President Chung Yoo-kyung. She made her debut in June as a member of the co-ed group AllDayProject. Despite being a rookie, she quickly became one of the most talked-about new faces in K-pop.
A Record-Breaking Debut
AllDayProject's double title tracks "FAMOUS" and "WICKED" became massive hits. In particular, "FAMOUS" achieved a perfect all-kill on domestic charts within seven days of release and also entered the Billboard Global 200 chart — an impressive feat for a new group.
A New Era for Gayo Daejeon
The 2025 Gayo Daejeon will air on December 31, marking a symbolic transition as Annie steps into the role previously held by Yoona for the past decade. Fans are eager to see how the rising star will bring fresh energy to the iconic year-end show.
