Actress Kim Hee Sun is embracing imperfection in her upcoming TV Chosun drama "No Next Life." On October 22, the production unveiled still cuts of her character Jo Na Jung, a once-successful show host who left her career for motherhood and now faces the harsh reality of re-entering the workforce.
The images highlight striking contrasts — from Na Jung's glamorous days as a high-earning professional to her realistic, everyday life as a stay-at-home mom. Kim appears with curly "mom perm" hair and loose shirts, shedding her usual elegance for a grounded, relatable look.
Reflecting on her role, Kim shared, "I also took a six-year break from acting after marriage, so I deeply understood Na Jung's emotions. Her journey to rediscover herself mirrors my own." She added, "I intentionally chose an 'ordinary mom' image — someone you might see anywhere in real life."
The production team praised Kim's authenticity, noting that she perfectly embodies a modern mother's struggles and hopes. "No Next Life" follows three 41-year-old women worn down by childcare and work, depicting their humorous yet heartfelt journey toward renewal.
The series premieres November 10 at 10 p.m. KST and will also stream on Netflix.
