Actors Park Seo-jun and Won Ji-an are teaming up for a heartwarming romance that captures the full cycle of first love — from falling in love, parting ways, and reuniting years later.
JTBC's upcoming drama Waiting for Gyeongdo (written by Yoo Young-ah, directed by Lim Hyun-wook) held its script reading session on October 24. The cast included Park Seo-jun, Won Ji-an, Lee El, and Lee Joo-young. Park shared, "I hope viewers will find themselves waiting for Gyeongdo every week," expressing his excitement for the project.
Love, Separation, and Reunion
Waiting for Gyeongdo tells the story of Lee Gyeong-do (played by Park Seo-jun) and Seo Ji-woo (played by Won Ji-an), who fall in love twice before breaking up. Years later, they meet again — this time as a reporter who exposed an affair and the wife of the man in the scandal.
Park Seo-jun transforms into Lee Gyeong-do, a deputy editor in the entertainment section of the fictional Dongun Daily. Known for his deep and loyal love, he portrays the character's emotional journey through his twenties and thirties with nuanced detail.
Won Ji-an plays Seo Ji-woo, Gyeong-do's first love. With both elegance and bold charm, she captures the growth of a woman who moves from youthful passion to mature self-awareness. Their chemistry during the reading hinted at an authentic and touching portrayal of love and reconciliation.
Supporting Cast and First Broadcast
Lee El joins as Seo Ji-yeon, the charismatic CEO of Jarim Apparel and Ji-woo's older sister, balancing authority with warmth. Lee Joo-young, Kang Ki-doong, and Cho Min-guk appear as members of a quirky college theater club, adding energy to the story.
Waiting for Gyeongdo will premiere in December on JTBC.
