TWICE has received the Prime Minister's Commendation at the 16th Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards, held on October 23 at the National Theater of Korea in Seoul.
The Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards, established in 2010, recognize artists and professionals who have made significant contributions to the development of Korea's cultural and entertainment industry.
Recognition Beyond the Stage
Although TWICE could not attend the ceremony due to their ongoing world tour schedule, the group expressed their gratitude through their agency, saying, "We're truly honored to receive such a prestigious award. It's even more meaningful to be recognized alongside others who work hard for the growth of popular culture."
They added, "We're deeply thankful to ONCE for always giving us strength. This award belongs to all of you."
Celebrating a Decade of Global Success
In addition to TWICE, singers Choi Hee-sun and ATEEZ also received the Prime Minister's Commendation, while actors Kim Tae-ri, Kim Ji-won, Park Bo-young, Joo Ji-hoon, and Park Hae-joon were among the other honorees.
Now in their 10th year since debut, TWICE continues to prove their influence in the global music market. Their 10th anniversary album, TEN: The Story Goes On, released on October 10, debuted at No. 11 on the Billboard 200. This achievement makes TWICE the first K-pop girl group to have ten albums chart on Billboard's main album ranking.
TWICE will continue their READY TO BE world tour with a concert at the National Hockey Stadium in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on October 25.
