BLACKPINK's Rosé has been honored with the Presidential Commendation at the 16th Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards, held on October 23 at the National Theater of Korea in Seoul. The award recognizes her outstanding contributions to the advancement of Korean popular culture.
A Global Chart-Topping Influence
Rosé's influence was reaffirmed through her hit single Apartment, released in October last year. The song dominated the Billboard Global 200 for 12 consecutive weeks and peaked at No. 2 on the UK Official Singles Chart Top 100, marking an unprecedented global achievement for a K-pop solo artist.
She also made history at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, one of America's four major music award ceremonies, by becoming the first K-pop artist ever to win Song of the Year.
Record-Breaking Success and Artistic Growth
Her first full-length album ROSY, released in December last year, entered the Billboard 200 at No. 3 and remained on the chart for 27 consecutive weeks — setting the highest and longest record for a female K-pop soloist. Notably, Rosé participated in writing and composing every track, proving her artistry beyond her vocals.
Recognized for Elevating K-Culture
The Korea Popular Culture and Arts Awards are the nation's highest government honor for cultural figures, celebrating those who have significantly contributed to the development of Korean entertainment and arts.
Rosé continues her global journey, performing today at BLACKPINK's world tour DEADLINE concert held at Rajamangala National Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
