"I just want to work again."
Actress Kim Hee-sun takes on a heartfelt role as she begins her journey back into the workforce, moving audiences with a story of courage and renewal.
TV CHOSUN unveiled the teaser for its new Monday-Tuesday drama No Next Life (written by Shin Yi-won, directed by Kim Jung-min) on October 27, featuring Kim Hee-sun as Jo Na-jeong.
Na-jeong was once a top home-shopping host, but after marriage and childbirth, she left her career to become a full-time homemaker. Now in her 40s, she faces a wave of emptiness and longing for her lost self.
Her narration adds poignancy: "My heart feels young, but the world calls me middle-aged. I feel like I'm fading away."
The teaser then shows her standing before her own "Host of the Year" monument at her old company, asking, "Is it a luxury to want a life that makes my heart race again?"
Driven by desperation, she confides to her husband, No Won-bin (played by Yoon Park), "I want to work again," only to hear his skeptical response: "Do you really have to start now?"
Meanwhile, her friends encourage her: "You've already taken the first step — go all in." A scene of her selling apples flashes across the screen, accompanied by the phrase "A glamorous comeback begins."
The trailer hints at a turbulent yet empowering journey. Na-jeong walks into a home-shopping building with a hopeful smile, mirroring moments from her legendary past.
Producers shared, "Kim Hee-sun brings a captivating second act to life through Na-jeong's character. Viewers can look forward to an inspiring reboot story of three friends rediscovering themselves."
No Next Life follows three 41-year-old friends navigating motherhood, work, and personal growth. The series premieres on November 10 at 10 p.m. on TV CHOSUN.
