SEVENTEEN is joining forces with the world-famous blue characters, The Smurfs.
On October 28, Pledis Entertainment announced that the group has partnered with Belgium's Peyo Company, which owns The Smurfs' licensing rights, to launch a special collaboration project between SEVENTEEN and The Smurfs.
The first chapter begins with the music video for SEVENTEEN's 11th mini-album title track "God of Music." The collaboration was inspired by the shared release date of the song and The Smurfs' birthday, as well as their mutual theme of coexistence.
Custom Smurf versions of SEVENTEEN members will also be revealed later. All 13 members will appear as small, blue-skinned, magically gifted Smurfs designed after their unique personalities.
Created in 1958 by Belgian artist Pierre Culliford (known as Peyo), The Smurfs have achieved worldwide fame through comics, animation, and global licensing.
Pledis explained, "This collaboration stems from the shared values of teamwork, friendship, fun, and cooperation that both SEVENTEEN and The Smurfs represent. We hope fans will look forward to this creative meeting between SEVENTEEN, who spread messages of positivity and unity through music, and The Smurfs, symbols of hope and happiness."
SEVENTEEN has previously collaborated with several global character brands, including Sanrio, BE@RBRICK, and Teddy Tales.
