Rapper D.Ark (real name Kim Woo Rim) has been arrested on suspicion of marijuana use and distribution. The artist is strongly denying all allegations.
According to his agency GAZE PLAN, D.Ark tested negative in an initial drug screening following his arrest on October 27. "We are currently waiting for the results of a detailed analysis," the agency told Dispatch. "He has firmly stated that he has never used drugs."
A company representative added, "Our agency has always conducted strict internal education on drug prevention. In fact, we even discussed the importance of staying clean the day before his arrest. This situation is completely unexpected and shocking to us."
D.Ark, an ethnic Korean from Yanji, China, is said to have parents who immediately flew to Korea upon hearing the news and headed to the Mokpo Police Station.
The agency further explained, "D.Ark has only spent time between his home and the company. Aside from a university festival in Jeonbuk last year, we're unaware of any recent visits near Mokpo. We'll await the outcome of the investigation."
The Mokpo Police Department confirmed that D.Ark was taken into custody on October 27 at his residence in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam District, Seoul, under suspicion of violating Korea's Narcotics Control Act related to marijuana use and distribution.
Born in 2004, D.Ark first gained attention on Show Me the Money 777 (2018) and later finished third on High School Rapper 4 (2021). He most recently released the digital single "Sorry for Cheating" featuring B.I.O in September.
