Lee Byung Hun has been nominated for Best Actor at this year's Gotham Awards.

On October 30 (KST), the 35th Gotham Awards announced its list of nominees through its official website. Lee earned a Best Actor nomination for his role in director Park Chan Wook's film Can't Be Helped, competing alongside Ethan Hawke and Amanda Seyfried.

The Gotham Awards, known for honoring artistic and creative excellence in film, are often considered an early indicator of the Academy Awards race.

Can't Be Helped scored a total of three nominations — Best International Feature, Best Adapted Screenplay, and Best Actor — highlighting its global acclaim.

In the film, Lee Byung Hun portrays Man Soo, a laid-off family man facing a quiet yet devastating emotional collapse. International media praised his performance as "intensely immersive" and "deeply human."

Following his recent honors — the Special Achievement Award at the Toronto International Film Festival and the Artist of Distinction Award at the Newport Beach Film Festival — anticipation is rising for whether he will add another international trophy to his name.
