YTN anchor Kim Sun-young has shared a heartfelt tribute following the passing of her husband, attorney Baek Sung-moon.
On November 1, Kim posted a message on Baek's social media, writing, "My husband, who always approached me with a kind and gentle smile, has entered eternal rest."
She revealed that Baek had been diagnosed with sinus cancer last summer. "He underwent surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation treatment, fighting the illness for over a year. But in the end, we couldn't stop the aggressive tumor from spreading," she wrote.
Recalling his final moments, Kim said, "Our prayers to spend more time together were not answered. He left for heaven with a peaceful expression, as if he were simply asleep."
She continued, "In June, he told me, 'Thank you for sharing the most radiant moments of my life.' As I say goodbye, I pray sincerely that he will have even brighter days in heaven — always smiling."
Along with her message, Kim shared photos from their trip to Paris. "We had promised to return for our 10th anniversary, but that wish couldn't come true. I'm posting the Paris photos he loved most instead," she wrote.
Baek Sung-moon passed away on October 31 after battling sinus cancer. He was 52. The funeral is being held at Asan Medical Center in Seoul, with the service scheduled for the morning of November 2.
