"We want to be artists who can fill a stadium."
Cortiz met their Japanese fans for the first time, holding a solo showcase on November 5 at Spotify O-West in Tokyo.
The group introduced their debut album COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES, opening the show with the intro track "GO!" Cortiz shared, "It's our first time meeting Japanese fans, and it feels even more special since BTS held their debut showcase at this very venue."
The event felt like a full concert, with the group performing their title track "What You Want" along with every song from the album. Responding to encore chants, they added three more songs to the setlist.
Cortiz reflected on their successful debut journey — their album entered the Billboard 200 at No. 15 on September 27. "We're grateful that so many people listened to our music," they said, expressing their dream to "become artists who can fill stadiums like our seniors."
They added, "We see today as our first step. Please continue to watch us grow and cheer us on."
Cortiz will appear on TBS's morning show THE TIME on November 6 and perform on Nippon TV's music program Buzz Rhythm 02 on November 7.
