A special retrospective celebrating director Park Chan Wook will take place in Los Angeles.
CJ ENM announced on November 6 that the American Cinematheque in Los Angeles will host the Park Chan Wook Retrospective, honoring the acclaimed filmmaker's career and artistry.
Founded in 1984, the American Cinematheque is a renowned art-house theater known for showcasing everything from classic masterpieces to global independent cinema.
The retrospective will run from November 16 to December 6, featuring screenings of Hwa Joemul (I Can't Help It), The Handmaiden, and Joint Security Area (JSA), among other iconic works.
Notably, Park Chan Wook and actor Lee Byung Hun will attend select Q&A sessions, offering audiences an opportunity for in-depth discussions following the screenings.
A CJ ENM representative noted, "The program offers a comprehensive look at Park Chan Wook's cinematic lineage — his dense storytelling and distinctive mise-en-scène that elevated the global stature of Korean cinema."
Meanwhile, Park's latest film I Can't Help It is nearing the 3 million admissions milestone in Korea.
