Rookie group Cortiz is proving their explosive potential, with their debut album on the verge of becoming a million seller.
According to Circle Chart, Cortiz's debut album Color Outside the Lines has exceeded 960,000 cumulative sales as of October.
Record-breaking rookie achievement
It marks the highest album sales among all rookie groups who debuted this year. Their agency noted, "Considering that Cortiz has no pre-debut or audition show members, this is an exceptional accomplishment."
The album sold 420,000 copies in its first week alone, the highest first-week figure for a rookie act in 2025, and reached half a million in just two weeks. Sales have continued to rise as the group's fanbase grows steadily, doubling their initial tally within two months of release.
A self-creating new generation
Cortiz, known as the "Young Creator Crew," has gained attention for co-producing their own music, choreography, and visual content — bringing fresh creative energy to the K-pop scene.
Their influence has extended beyond Korea, drawing offers from the United States and Japan last month. The group has been captivating overseas fans through concerts, events, and media appearances.
A rookie rewriting records
Color Outside the Lines became the fastest debut album by a rookie group to surpass 100 million streams on Spotify (as of October 12) and ranked No. 15 on the Billboard 200 chart dated September 27. Cortiz also leads among new artists in TikTok and YouTube follower counts.
Most recently, Cortiz appeared at Music Expo Live 2025 held at Tokyo Dome, further solidifying their presence as one of the year's most remarkable newcomers.
