Huntrix on Grammy Nomination: "We Want Everyone to Know They Can Do It Too"
by. ymchoi

Huntrix, the fictional K-pop trio from Netflix's animated film K-Pop Demon Hunters, has shared their reaction to being nominated for the Grammy Awards.

The film's original soundtrack "Golden" was nominated in the coveted "Song of the Year" category at the 68th Grammy Awards, announced on November 8. Rosé's "Apartment" was also named in the same category.

This marks the first time a K-pop track has been nominated in one of the Grammys' general fields. In addition to "Song of the Year," "Golden" earned nominations in five categories including Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, Best Songwriting, and Best Remixed Recording.

Voice actors Lee Jae, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami, who portray Huntrix, shared their thoughts with Variety. Lee Jae said, "It still doesn't feel real. I'm completely dazed." Rei Ami added, "I can't stop crying—it feels like a dream." Audrey Nuna emphasized the importance of representation over personal achievement.

"Three Korean women will stand on the Grammy stage," Rei Ami said. "Just thinking about the kids who will see that gives me chills. I hope they realize, 'I can do it too.'"

As Korean women in the global entertainment industry, they reflected on the hard work behind their success. "We were taught that we have to work twice as hard, show up earlier, and shine brighter just to be seen as equal," Rei Ami shared.

Lee Jae, who became the first Korean-American woman nominated in the "Song of the Year" category, admitted, "Sometimes I struggle with imposter syndrome, wondering if I really deserve to be here."

The trio also expressed gratitude to fans through social media, writing, "The Huntrix girls are going global. This wouldn't have been possible without everyone who loved the film."

Meanwhile, Rosé's "Apartment" is nominated for three awards, including "Song of the Year" and "Record of the Year," while Cat's Eye is up for Best New Artist and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.

The 68th Grammy Awards will take place on February 1 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
