Actors Shin Ha Kyun, Oh Jung Se, and Heo Sung Tae are teaming up in an upcoming MBC television series.
The production team of Fifty Percent (written by Jang Won Seop, directed by Han Dong Hwa) confirmed their casting on November 11. The trio will portray Jung Ho Myung, Bong Je Soon, and Kang Beom Ryong respectively.
Fifty Percent is described as a salty action comedy. The story follows three men who once stood at the top of their respective worlds but are exiled to the remote island of Yeongseon-do after a fateful incident.
Shin Ha Kyun plays Jung Ho Myung, a former NIS black agent who lives under a false identity as a chef at a Chinese restaurant after being falsely accused and forced out of the agency.
Oh Jung Se takes on the role of Bong Je Soon, a North Korean special operative who loses his memory. Once the North's most lethal weapon, he ends up on Yeongseon-do after an unexpected accident.
Heo Sung Tae portrays Kang Beom Ryong, a former gangster and current convenience store owner. Once the second-in-command of the Hwasan gang, his organization collapses after a major incident, and he arrives on the island seeking revenge.
Director Han Dong Hwa, known for Bad Guys, The Deal, Squad 38, and Navillera, leads the project.
The production team commented, "Fifty Percent tells the secret double lives of three men burdened by their dangerous pasts. Their tangled relationships will bring intense tension and entertainment."
Fifty Percent is slated to premiere in the first half of next year.
