Actress Lee Na Young is making a powerful comeback, taking on two contrasting roles in her first film in seven years.

On November 11, Eden Nine announced, "Lee Na Young has confirmed her appearance in the short film Unknown Identity directed by Cho Hee Soo. She will portray dual characters in the story."

Lee shared her excitement about returning through a short film, saying, "I've always been interested in short and independent films. When I read the script, I accepted the role without hesitation. It was a meaningful and enjoyable project as an actor."

Unknown Identity delves into the themes of human dignity and the importance of identity through children who have lost their names and lived as ghosts within a rigid system.

Lee Na Young takes on two distinct roles — Shepherd, the leader of an underground child crime organization called "Yellow Flock," who rebels against the system, and Jin Yi, a detective struggling within it. Though they share the same past, their lives diverge through different choices.

A production official commented, "Through the contrast between Shepherd and Jin Yi, the film explores how a single person can split into completely different beings depending on environment and choice."

Director Cho Hee Soo praised Lee's performance, saying, "Only an actor with the courage to dismantle her own identity could cross the boundary between these two roles. When she asked me during our first meeting to 'make her the face of someone unknown,' I knew I had made the right choice."

Cho graduated from the Korea National University of Arts and the State Academy of Fine Arts Stuttgart in Germany, gaining recognition for her distinctive works such as The Divers and Triathlon.

Unknown Identity is set to be submitted to both domestic and international film festivals in 2026.
