Ji Sung is returning to the small screen with MBC's new Friday–Saturday drama Judge Lee Han-Young (written by Kim Kwang-min, directed by Lee Jae-jin and Park Mi-yeon). The production team unveiled photos from the first script reading session held on November 12, attended by Ji Sung, Park Hee-soon, and other cast members.
A Time-Travel Drama About Justice and Redemption
Judge Lee Han-Young follows a judge who once lived as a "slave" to a powerful law firm but mysteriously travels ten years back in time. Armed with a new sense of conviction, he uses his second chance to fight corruption and pursue justice.
The cast delivered intense energy from the very first reading, fully immersing themselves in their roles and bringing each character's unique presence to life.
Ji Sung's Transformation Into Judge Lee Han-Young
Ji Sung portrays Lee Han-Young, a judge working under the massive Hae-Nal Law Firm. After losing his mother, he undergoes a deep emotional transformation. His performance vividly contrasts his past as a servant to power with his rebirth as a righteous judge determined to right his wrongs.
Stellar Supporting Cast
Park Hee-soon plays Kang Shin-jin, the chief criminal judge at the Seoul Central District Court, a man hungry for power who exudes authority with every gesture. Won Jin-ah joins as prosecutor Kim Jin-ah, a fierce and unyielding woman seeking revenge against the person responsible for her father's death.
The ensemble also includes Tae Won-seok, Baek Jin-hee, Oh Se-young, Hwang Hee, Kim Tae-woo, Ahn Nae-sang, and Kim Beop-rae, each promising strong performances in the tightly woven storyline.
Coming to MBC This January
Following the script reading, Ji Sung said, "I'll work hard with this amazing cast and crew to make Judge Lee Han-Young a great drama." Park Hee-soon added, "I'm very excited and curious about what's to come."
Judge Lee Han-Young is set to premiere on January 2, 2026, on MBC.
