Im Si-wan is beginning a new chapter in his musical career, officially stepping forward as a solo artist.

On the 14th, SM Entertainment's subsidiary label SMART announced that Im Si-wan will release his first solo mini album The Reason on December 5.

The Reason marks his first-ever solo record since debut. The album features five tracks, including the title song of the same name, offering a range of new sounds and emotions.

As a solo artist, Im Si-wan showcases a different side of himself—bringing the delicate sensibilities he has cultivated through acting into his music. Fans will also discover musical tastes he has never revealed before.

Kangta leads the overall production, with SMART selecting Im Si-wan's solo debut as its first official project. The team promises a sound unlike anything he has released before.

Pre-orders for The Reason will begin on the 17th at major online and offline retailers.
