Jinyoung has officially entered one of the most prestigious film stages in Greater China.
He was invited to the 62nd Golden Horse Film Festival on the 17th as the lead actor of the Taiwanese original film 1977, The Photo from That Year (directed by Tang Tangshing & Cheng Neibang). He walked the red carpet to explosive cheers from local media and fans. Jinyoung will also hold Q&A sessions with audiences after screenings on the 17th and 18th.
The Golden Horse Film Festival is considered the most authoritative awards ceremony in the Chinese-speaking world. His agency emphasized that "this marks the beginning of Jinyoung's full-scale activities in Greater China and holds great significance."
1977, The Photo from That Year is a romance period film set in 1977 Zhongli, Taiwan. Against an era where chaos and hope coexisted, three young people pursue their dreams.
Jinyoung plays Taekwondo coach Kim Ho-hee, a man who leaves Korea after personal hardship and starts anew in Taiwan. His immersion into the 1970s atmosphere brings a unique emotional tone to the film.
He stars alongside Taiwanese rising actor Imok, who plays photographer Xian Ying. Their cross-national friendship, love, and shared hope deliver a heartfelt narrative.
Jinyoung is rapidly building his presence in Taiwan, securing local advertisement deals and shooting solo pictorials for global magazines. After the film's release on December 24, he plans to continue active promotions in the region.
