Actor Park Si-hoo has taken legal action against a woman who posted damaging allegations about him on social media.
According to his legal representative, a formal complaint was filed on November 21 against the individual, identified as A, for violating the Information and Communications Network Act through defamatory false postings. The team confirmed that an active investigation is now underway and emphasized that A's claim—accusing Park Si-hoo of introducing another woman to a married man and causing family breakdown—is entirely false.
The issue began in August when A uploaded select portions of messages allegedly exchanged between Park Si-hoo and her ex-husband B, along with a photo of another woman referred to as C. Park Si-hoo's side countered that A had unlawfully entered B's residence, stolen his phone, and maliciously edited and distorted the contents before publishing them online.
B has also filed a criminal complaint against A. According to Park Si-hoo's legal counsel, the police have already acknowledged A's defamation by false information in B's case, which has now been forwarded to the prosecution. Since both sets of posts were based on the same material, they expressed confidence that the charges in Park Si-hoo's case will likewise be recognized.
The actor's team reiterated a strict stance toward malicious commenters and rumor spreaders, vowing zero leniency or settlements. They warned that all fabricated stories and defamatory posts circulating online will be pursued to the end, with severe legal consequences.
Official Statement from HyeMyung Law Firm
HyeMyung Law Firm, representing actor Park Si-hoo, issued a detailed statement outlining the legal response to the false rumors recently circulated on social media.
1. Criminal Complaint for Defamation
Park Si-hoo filed a complaint in August against the individual responsible for creating and spreading the false claims, including assertions that he introduced a woman to a married man, allegedly causing a family breakdown. His legal team stressed that the accusations are entirely baseless.
2. Criminal Acts and Prosecutorial Referral
The investigation revealed that the suspect unlawfully entered her ex-husband's home, stole his phone, and manipulated the stored conversations and photos before posting them online. Police recognized defamation charges in the ex-husband's complaint and referred the case to the prosecution. The same falsified materials were used in the posts targeting Park Si-hoo, making the recognition of charges in his case inevitable.
3. Future Legal Action
The firm affirmed it will take a firm, uncompromising stance against all defamatory rumors and malicious attacks. It emphasized that all false or fabricated online content will be pursued thoroughly, with strict legal accountability to follow.
