According to global OTT ranking platform FlixPatrol on November 23, TVING's original series Dear X (written by Choi Jawon & Ban Ji-un, directed by Lee Eung-bok & Park So-hyun) has been sweeping international charts.
On Japan's Disney+, the series climbed to No.1 on November 22 and remains in the top tier at No.2. It also held the No.1 spot for three consecutive weeks on Viki in the U.S. Meanwhile, HBO Max ranked the show No.1 in 17 different countries.
The series is dominating across Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, and the Philippines. In the Middle East and North Africa, it recorded high rankings on STARZPLAY, reaching No.2 in countries such as Jordan and Morocco.
Dear X is a dark melodramatic thriller centered on Baek Ah-jin (played by Kim Yoo-jung), a sociopathic young woman who hides behind a perfect mask to rise as a top actress — smiling on the outside while crushing those around her.
Two episodes are released every Thursday. Episodes 7 and 8 dropped on November 20, depicting rookie actress Ah-jin and top star Heo In-gang (Hwang In-youp) as they enter their second year of public dating.
But after In-gang's grandmother discovers Ah-jin's true nature, she suddenly dies — pushing In-gang into shock and grief so deep that he takes his own life. This turns agency CEO Seo Mi-ri (Kim Ji-young) into a fierce enemy against Ah-jin.
Episodes 9 and 10 of Dear X will be released on November 27 at 6 p.m.
