DinDin Apologizes After App Company Collapse; Mimiminu Returns Full Ad Fee
by. ymchoi

Singer DinDin has issued an apology following the bankruptcy of the study-app company "Part-Time Study," for which he served as a promotional model.

He stated on Instagram that he has been unable to reach the company and learned that most victims are students or job seekers. He explained that similar services were already active in the market and that he had been discussing additional content with the company, making the situation difficult to foresee.

DinDin noted that compensating only those who signed up during his campaign period (October 10–16) is not realistically possible, according to the guidance he received. He emphasized that what he can do now is raise awareness of the victims' situation, encouraging them to join the victim chat group and register their claims within the app. He added that he is still attempting to contact the company and apologized to anyone harmed through his involvement.

Education YouTuber Mimiminu also released an apology video. He pledged to return the entire advertising fee he received—along with an additional amount—to affected users. Mimiminu shared that he had met the company's CEO in person during two rounds of ad discussions between June of last year and last month, reviewing as much documentation as possible. However, the company concealed signs of financial distress even from its own board until the moment of bankruptcy. He learned of the collapse only on the day it occurred via a single email.

He contacted the victims' group immediately after his video went live and promised to transfer both the full ad payment and extra compensation as swiftly as possible.

Part-Time Study was an app offering a deposit-based study goal system, adding bonus rewards when users met their targets. The company abruptly filed for bankruptcy on the 24th, leaving both users and promotional partners blindsided. DinDin and Mimiminu have since addressed the situation publicly, each taking responsibility in their own way.
