SEVENTEEN Teams Up with The Smurfs for Special 'God of Music' MV
by. ymchoi

SEVENTEEN has joined forces with the global Smurfs franchise.

On the 25th, Peyo Company—the rights holder of The Smurfs—released a special "God of Music" music video featuring SEVENTEEN and the iconic blue characters on its official YouTube channel.

Popular Smurf characters, including Papa Smurf, Smurfette, and Clumsy Smurf, appear alongside the members, seamlessly integrated into the original music video. Set against the backdrop of Budapest, the clip unfolds like a "SEVENTEEN Festival," enhancing the song's message about a world connected through music.

New Smurf characters also make a surprise appearance at the end. Inspired by SEVENTEEN, each character reflects the unique traits of the group's 13 members.

This collaboration was developed around a fun coincidence: the release date of "God of Music" and the anniversary of The Smurfs fall on the same day. SEVENTEEN and The Smurfs will also launch collaborative merchandise next year.

Peyo Company CEO Véronique Culliford shared that "joy and friendship are core values" for the brand, adding that the original creator would have been proud of the collaboration.

SEVENTEEN recently added their 17th song to Spotify's 100-million-stream club. "Whirlwind," a track from their fourth studio album, surpassed 100 million streams as of the 25th.
