SEVENTEEN's Jun has been selected as the promotional face of the 7th Hainan International Film Festival.
On the 26th, Jun was officially appointed as the festival's Youth Ambassador. Recognized as a rising talent in the Chinese film scene, he will serve as a bridge connecting audiences with cinema.
The Hainan International Film Festival is a major global event that brings together filmmakers from around the world. This year's edition will be held from December 3 to 9 in Sanya, Hainan Province, featuring more than 4,600 submissions from 119 countries and regions.
Jun has been solidifying his acting career, appearing in the film Everything Goes Wrong (released in August across China and other major cities worldwide), where he worked alongside stars such as Jackie Chan and Tony Leung.
The film earned back-to-back invitations to the 27th Shanghai International Film Festival and the 30th Busan International Film Festival. His Chinese period drama Yun Gui Hui Shi is also set to premiere on Chinese OTT platform iQIYI.
Jun has grown steadily as an actor in the Chinese-speaking market. He first starred in the 2006 film The Drummer and won the Best New Actor Award at the Hong Kong Directors' Guild the following year.
He also became the first Chinese child actor nominated for Best New Performer at the 27th Hong Kong Film Awards. In 2023, his youth romance drama Exclusive Fairy Tale earned him a Popularity Award at the Asia Contents & Global OTT Awards of the Busan International Film Festival.
