Kim Hyun-joo and Bae Hyun-sung will headline director Yeon Sang-ho's upcoming mystery film, forming an unexpected mother–son duo that already has movie fans buzzing.

CJ ENM confirmed that Paradise Lost has finalized its lead cast and is set to begin filming next month.

The story unfolds when a boy who disappeared nine years ago in a camping school bus incident suddenly returns as a grown teenager. His reappearance pulls his mother into a deeper, unresolved mystery.

A return to Yeon Sang-ho's world

Kim Hyun-joo plays Ryu So-young, a mother who has spent years retracing her child's last known path. This marks her third collaboration with Yeon Sang-ho, following Hellbound and Seonsan, strengthening expectations for their on-screen synergy.

The son who comes back

Bae Hyun-sung takes on the role of Ryu Sun-woo, who vanished under mysterious circumstances and returns to his family nine years later.

A production insider shared that Yeon Sang-ho "continues to pursue new creative challenges" and that Paradise Lost will bring a distinctly fresh cinematic experience.

The film has wrapped its full casting lineup and pre-production and is preparing to start shooting next month.
