Park Eun-bin and Yang Se-jong team up for an unusual partnership in the upcoming tvN drama Spellbound, bringing a fresh twist to the beloved 2011 film.
tvN unveiled the casting lineup on the 27th, confirming the pairing of Park Eun-bin and Yang Se-jong for the series.
The drama is a comic romance based on the original movie Spellbound. It follows an heiress who can see ghosts and an elite prosecutor who unexpectedly becomes entangled in her eerie world.
A haunted heiress
Park Eun-bin takes the role of Cheon Yeori, a hotel CEO and chaebol heiress. She appears flawless on the outside, but beneath the glamour lies a chilling secret — she sees ghosts. Park Eun-bin is expected to deliver delicate emotional shifts as her character's quiet life is shaken by ominous spirits.
A principled prosecutor
Yang Se-jong plays Ma Kang-uk, an ace prosecutor with outstanding physicality, sharp intellect, and a strong moral compass. As a near-perfect professional, he never compromises on principles and stands firm in the face of injustice.
Chemistry built on the unexpected
The two characters are drawn into a strange encounter that slowly disrupts their routines. As their worlds blend, they form a relationship shaped by mystery, tension, and growing curiosity.
The production team describes Spellbound as a "horror-tinged romance between a fearless woman who sees ghosts and a man thrust into a world he never imagined." They added that the synergy between Yeori's mysterious ability and Kang-uk's investigative instincts will deliver thrilling catharsis.
Spellbound is set to premiere next year.
