The 2025 MAMA Awards will move forward as planned.
The ceremony is set for November 28–29 at Hong Kong's Kai Tak Stadium. On the 26th, a major fire broke out at a residential complex in the Tai Po district of northern Hong Kong.
The incident has resulted in 83 confirmed deaths. In response, CJ ENM reviewed possible changes to the event's format and schedule before deciding to proceed with the ceremony.
However, the company stated that it will "include a 'Support Hong Kong' message, set aside time for remembrance, and contribute through donations to support the victims."
The red carpet event has been canceled. Hong Kong actors Michelle Yeoh and Chow Yun-fat, who were scheduled to present awards, will not attend. The main ceremony will still air live as planned.
According to CJ ENM, the production is being adjusted with "a focus on comfort and hope rather than spectacle," ensuring a more thoughtful stage design and flow.
This year's lineup includes G-Dragon, Stray Kids, ENHYPEN, ZEROBASEONE, Hearts2Hearts, BABYMONSTER, and TWS, among a total of 27 performing teams. The show begins at 7:30 p.m.
