Sung Jin-woo's iconic line is coming alive on ice. Solo Leveling on Ice, Korea's first-ever ice performance musical, is ready to make its debut.

Even the promotion was unconventional. In a rare move for an original musical, the production hosted a listening party, previewing musical numbers before the official OST release.

Fans also stepped directly into the Solo Leveling universe. An S-Rank Hunter Lounge was recreated at IFC Windsor Global in Yeouido, overlooking the city skyline.

Dispatch attended the special quest event "Sound Drop: Hunter's Lounge" on the evening of the 27th, getting a first look at the world of hunters leveling up.

Solo Leveling on Ice is an original stage adaptation based on the hit web novel and webtoon Solo Leveling. The production fuses an ice show, musical elements, and action performance.

Producer Song Dong-il of Live Arena shared, "The story follows humanity's weakest, Sung Jin-woo, as he levels up. We stayed faithful to the original, covering the narrative from episodes 1 through 45 of the webtoon."

The production traces his journey from an E-Rank hunter to the Monarch of Shadows, reimagined through dynamic choreography and ice performance. "We packed every fun element onto the ice. If this launch succeeds, we hope to develop it into a full series," Song added.

Author Chugong also expressed excitement. "I never imagined Jin-woo's story would unfold on an ice rink. I'm eagerly waiting for the premiere," he said.

The highlight of the night was the listening party. The full tracklist from the upcoming OST, set to release next month, was revealed for the first time.

The first number, "Gate of Chaos," is performed by Ha Hyun-woo. His powerful vocals build into a dramatic crescendo, amplifying the track's grand atmosphere.

Music director Lee Kang-hyun explained, "Because it's both an ice show and a musical, we experimented a lot. We added K-pop elements to make the songs more accessible to a broad audience."

Another track, "My Heart Beats," sung by Kim Jin-hwan, radiated explosive energy. Lyrics like "I will never fall / I have to fight back" conveyed the character's fierce determination.

"I wanted to capture Sung Jin-woo's journey from E-Rank to the strongest," Kim said. "It reflects the courage to face fear and push through."

The third number, "Light and Shadow," is a mood-shifting duet by Lee Dong-yeol of UP10TION and singer Rothy. Their harmony brings a hopeful message.

"The darker it gets, the brighter the light shines," they shared. "We hope this song gives strength to anyone worn out by daily life."

Another duet, "Beyond the Darkness," highlights speed and intensity with Kim Jin-hwan and Lee Dong-yeol delivering sharp vocal chemistry over a driving guitar riff.

"This one is the most fun," Kim said. "The stage will be spectacular, and with its fast tempo, it's definitely a crowd-booster."

The final number, "Rise," is performed by Lee Ho-won. The song turns the Shadow Monarch's epic saga into a soaring musical centerpiece.

Listeners could almost visualize Sung Jin-woo summoning his army. "When I first heard it, I was amazed they turned such an iconic line into a song," Lee recalled.

"I recorded it with joy," he added. "In the musical, it's the last number, sung after Jin-woo's awakening. I tried to channel that weight."

Kim Jin-hwan closed by asking for support. "We're working incredibly hard. This will be a performance unlike anything seen in Korea. We hope many people will come and enjoy it."

Solo Leveling on Ice will run for 10 shows from December 24–31 at Mokdong Ice Rink in Seoul. Lee Ho-won and Kim Jin-hwan will share the role of Sung Jin-woo.

The cast also includes former national figure skater Kim Ye-rim, active figure skater Lee Si-hyeong, musical actor Choi Woo-hyuk, and Kim Chae-yeon of tripleS.
