Lee Junho is stepping into a new kind of hero role. Netflix has announced that its upcoming series Cashero will premiere worldwide on December 26.
Based on the popular webtoon, Cashero is a "my-money-my-power" hero story about an ordinary civil servant whose strength increases in proportion to the cash he holds. The series is written by Lee Jae-in and Jeon Chan-ho, and directed by Lee Chang-min.
The newly released poster shows Sang-woong (played by Lee Junho) staring at his hand as it crumbles into dust — a glimpse into the emotional and comedic tone of the series. The trailer follows with a string of "funny-but-painful" moments, including his girlfriend Min-sook (Kim Hye-joon) pleading with him to stop using his powers, even as circumstances force his hand.
The drama also features fellow superpowered characters: Attorney Byun Ho-in (Kim Byung-chul), Bang Eun-mi (Kim Hyang-gi), and antagonists Jonathan (Lee Chae-min) and Joanna (Kang Han-na), who have their own reasons for targeting people with abilities.
Producers described the project as the birth of a uniquely relatable and delightfully pitiful hero, asking viewers to look forward to a story packed with real-world humor and emotional resonance.
Cashero premieres December 26 exclusively on Netflix.
