TV Chosun's No Next Life (written by Shin Yi-won, directed by Kim Jung-min) has once again broken its own viewership record.
Episode 8, aired on December 2, recorded a nationwide average rating of 3.1% and a peak of 3.7%, according to Nielsen Korea. The series, overcoming the typical limitations of a general programming channel, continues its steady climb from its 1.9% premiere on November 10.
Word-of-Mouth Pushes Ratings Up
Viewers are responding strongly to the relatable stories of women entering the second chapter of their lives. The compelling performances of Kim Hee-sun, Han Hye-jin, and Jin Seo-yeon are further fueling the show's popularity.
Episode 8 Highlights: Healing, Conflict, and a Difficult Choice
The episode centers on the reconciliation between Jo Na-jung (Kim Hee-sun) and her husband No Won-bin (Yoon Park), after learning that his workplace affair rumors were unfounded.

The drama tackles workplace sexual misconduct with nuance — depicting the isolation faced by victims, the abuse of authority, and the emotional friction between conscience and survival.
The standout moment comes when Na-jung comforts Won-bin: "It's not your fault that things turned out this way for Seon-min. Don't blame yourself."
Yet the emotional weight deepens. Speaking the truth about the harassment case could mean sacrificing his job. Na-jung finally suggests, with trembling sincerity, "Let's pretend we don't know what happened to Seon-min."
Kim Hee-sun's layered performance — trembling eyes, controlled breath, and a careful yet resolute tone — elevates the intensity and emotional depth of the episode.
Supporting characters also add richness: Goo Joo-young (Han Hye-jin) facing divorce, and Lee Il-li (Jin Seo-yeon) entering a tense love triangle. Their storylines help sustain the show's rising ratings.
No Next Life returns with Episode 9 on December 8 at 10 p.m.
