EXO is rewinding their story back to debut days, reawakening the iconic superpower universe that first defined their identity.
On December 8, the group unveiled a new trailer on their YouTube channel. In it, the members confront a surreal reality in which they no longer believe in their own powers, blurring the line between dreams and the real world.
A mysterious pull eventually leads them back to the Tree of Life. The trailer concludes with the reveal of their 8th full-length album title, REVERXE.
The title is EXO's reinterpretation of the word "Reverse," built on their long-running lore: "When we truly become one, a new world opens." The stylized spelling reflects a return to origins while pushing the narrative forward.
Since their 2012 debut, EXO has crafted one of K-pop's most distinct and influential worldviews, sparking the broader "universe storytelling" trend in the industry. In September, they teased new imagery reminiscent of a total lunar eclipse.
EXO will hold their fan meeting EXO'verse on December 14 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. at Inspire Arena in Jung-gu, Incheon. The event will feature the first-ever stage performance of songs from their 8th album, along with seasonal fan favorite "First Snow," which sees a resurgence every winter.
The group is slated to release their new album in the first quarter of next year.
