BTS have been honored with a Presidential Commendation at the 5th Korea Good Donation Awards.
Hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on December 8 at the Korea Advertising Culture Center in Seoul, the ceremony recognized individuals and groups who contributed to the spread of donation culture.
First Korean Singers to Earn the Honor
BTS became the first Korean artists to receive a Presidential Commendation at the event. Their global "Love Myself" donation movement — carried out together with fans — was recognized for promoting a culture of giving worldwide.
In their message, BTS shared that the award belongs to everyone who resonated with the "Love Myself" message. "This is encouragement for all who embraced the idea of loving oneself," they said.
They also thanked ARMY: "We dedicate this honor to our fans. We will continue striving to be a group that brings warm, positive change."
A Global Impact Through Love Myself
BTS partnered with UNICEF Korea in 2017, supporting violence prevention and mental health programs for children and teens in 155 countries. Their global initiatives have reached more than 100 million people, offering emotional support and awareness programs.
Funds raised together with fans reached approximately 9.2 billion KRW, accounting for about 15% of the total campaign contributions.
BTS are currently preparing a full-group comeback album for next spring, along with a large-scale world tour.
