Younha has donated 100 million KRW to the Korea Student Aid Foundation, expressing her wish to "share the love received from fans with the scientists of tomorrow." She also pledged to continue her support.
The singer attended the donation ceremony for the 2025 Blue Lighthouse Younha Scholarship on December 9 at the foundation's Seoul office in Jung-gu.
Supporting Physics and Astronomy Students
Younha shared, "I hope consistent annual support allows physics and astronomy students to focus on their studies without financial worry. May they grow into talents who shine as brightly as the stars in the night sky."
The Korea Student Aid Foundation added, "We hope Younha's generous donation becomes a strong 'Event Horizon' for science majors, and we will do our utmost to support them."
The foundation, a government-affiliated institution under the Ministry of Education, provides equal access to higher education regardless of economic background and leads various programs to nurture future talent.
Establishing a New Annual Scholarship
Starting next year, Younha and the foundation will launch the Blue Lighthouse Younha Scholarship, supporting low-income physics and astronomy majors with an annual fund of 100 million KRW.
Her latest donation will be distributed to 20 outstanding university students in those fields, each receiving 2.5 million KRW per semester.
Younha has long expressed her passion for astronomy through her music—singing about themes like "Event Horizon," "Oort Cloud," "Comet," "Black Hole," and "Meteor." With this donation, she extends that interest into meaningful action.
Sold-Out Winter Concert
Younha will hold her small-theater concert Shining Winter for 12 days spanning January and February at Ewha Womans University Samsung Hall in Seoul. All dates are fully sold out.
