Film Company Zip is entering the drama arena with its first series project, Liar—an upcoming MBC drama written by Baek Jae-young and directed by Cho Young-min. The series marks the long-awaited reunion of Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Hyun-jin after eight years.
Kakao Entertainment announced on the 11th that it will co-produce Liar with Film Company Zip, the studio known for major works such as Jeon Woo-chi, Broker, and The Black Nun.
Liar is a psychological thriller that follows two individuals who clash intensely as they offer opposing claims about the same memory. Director Cho Young-min, known for Eunjong and Sangyeon, will lead the production.
The reunion of Yoo Yeon-seok and Seo Hyun-jin adds to the anticipation. The pair last worked together in the 2016–2017 SBS series Dr. Romantic, and expectations are high for their chemistry once again.
Director Cho Young-min, Yoo Yeon-seok (King Kong by Starship), Seo Hyun-jin (Management SOOP), and Film Company Zip all operate under Kakao Entertainment. The company plans to showcase its strengthened production capabilities through Liar.
Kakao Entertainment stated that it will continue supporting creators, actors, and studios with a stable multi-studio system, allowing them to focus fully on their work.
