Netflix’s animated film KPop Demon Hunters has made waves once again, as its fictional girl group Huntress (HUNTRIX) has been named to Forbes’ 100 Most Influential Women list.
Forbes announced its 22nd annual World’s 100 Most Powerful Women on the 10th (local time), describing the honorees as “figures who reflect the world exactly as it is right now.”
Selections were based on metrics including wealth, media presence, influence, and global reach, spanning six key sectors: business, technology, finance, media & entertainment, and politics.
Contributors to KPop Demon Hunters were recognized as influential cultural forces. Listed as a team, the honorees include the film’s lead girl group Huntress—Lee Jae, Audrey Nuna, Ray Ami—as well as directors Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans.
Forbes described the creators behind the project as “cultural innovators,” calling KPop Demon Hunters a defining cultural phenomenon of the year. “It energized the cultural zeitgeist and united audiences around the world,” the outlet wrote.
This year’s No. 1 spot went to Ursula von der Leyen, President of the European Commission, marking her fourth consecutive year at the top. Korean leaders Lee Boo-jin (Shilla Hotel CEO) and Choi Soo-yeon (NAVER CEO) ranked 90th and 91st, respectively.
KPop Demon Hunters is also nominated in three categories at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards: Best Animated Feature, Best Original Song, and Box Office Achievement. The ceremony will be held on January 11 next year.
