Actor Lee Byung-hun has been recognized as one of the year's most outstanding performers.
The New York Times Magazine announced its list of "Great Performers" from the best films of 2025 on December 14, selecting 10 actors who delivered exceptional performances. Lee Byung-hun earned a spot on the list for his role in No Other Choice, directed by Park Chan-wook.
He was named alongside global stars including Liam Neeson, Kirsten Dunst, and Teyana Taylor, standing out for his powerful and nuanced acting.
In an interview, Lee addressed how he approaches raw emotions such as love, hatred, joy, and sorrow. He explained that he does not draw directly from his real life when acting, emphasizing that fully entering the story allows unexpected emotions to surface, sometimes even surprising himself while reading the script.
His agency stated that the recognition reaffirms Lee Byung-hun's position as an actor who convincingly portrays the depths of human emotion beyond borders and language.
Meanwhile, Lee Byung-hun has also been nominated for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy Motion Picture at the 83rd Golden Globe Awards, set to take place on January 11 next year.
