Producer and artist GRAY is stepping in as music director for the upcoming film Project Y, signaling a fresh and genre-defying musical approach.

On December 18, the production team of Project Y confirmed GRAY's participation as music director, stating that his signature sensibility adds a distinctive layer of genre-driven appeal to the film's overall tone.

Project Y follows Mi-seon (Han So-hee) and Do-gyeong (Jeon Jong-seo), two women pushed to the edge of their lives who become entangled in a dangerous plan involving black money and gold bars. The film features a strong ensemble cast including Han So-hee, Jeon Jong-seo, Kim Shin-rok, Jung Young-joo, Lee Jae-kyun, UAA, and Kim Sung-cheol.

GRAY previously made his debut as a film music director with the Netflix movie Ballerina. For Project Y, he aims to present a completely different musical color, expanding his creative spectrum. Vocal contributions to the soundtrack come from Hwasa, Kim Wan-sun, DeVita, Hoody, and Ahn Shin-ae.

Director Lee Hwan shared his satisfaction with the collaboration, saying he wanted music that broke away from GRAY's familiar style and delivered something entirely new. He added that the final result exceeded expectations and brought an unexpected depth to the film.

Project Y is scheduled to hit theaters on January 21, 2026.
