Composer Song Si-hyun is making a long-awaited return as a singer after a decade.
On December 18 at noon KST, Song Si-hyun released his new single Listen across major music platforms. The track marks his first release in nearly 10 years, following his 2016 project Song Si-hyun's Dreamlike World, where he unveiled two to three songs each month.
Since then, Song Si-hyun has remained deeply involved in music. He began teaching at a university department of applied music while continuing his creative work. He later expanded into musical theater production, maintaining a steady output as an artist.
Over the past 25 years, he formed the band Ivan, toured extensively, and participated in the creation of more than 60 original musicals, building a rich and diverse musical career.
Listen is a self-written and self-composed song that reflects these accumulated experiences and emotions. Song Si-hyun described the track as "a work that contains all the musical and life lessons I've gained through my journey."
He added, "Please focus on the acoustic sound and real instrumentation," inviting listeners to immerse themselves in the lyrics. "No matter what you imagine while listening, it will be a love story harsher than that imagination."
Song Si-hyun debuted in 1986 through the Riverside Song Festival. He is widely known as the composer behind legendary hits such as Lee Sun-hee's I Will Always Love You, Turning the Pages of Memories, and Winter Sorrow.
He has also left a strong mark on film and drama soundtracks, contributing music to works including Toemarok, Youth, Marrying the Mafia, and the drama Adults Don't Know About the New Generation.
