The wedding address for actors Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-a has been made public.
The Buddhist practice community Jungto Society shared the officiant's remarks on its website. Beopryun Sunim presided over the couple's wedding ceremony, held at The Shilla Seoul.
The officiant was personally requested by Kim Woo-bin. During his battle with nasopharyngeal cancer in 2017, he formed a connection with Beopryun Sunim through counseling. Shin Min-a is also said to have received comfort from the monk while caring for him during treatment.
Beopryun Sunim reflected on their long-standing bond. He noted that Shin Min-a has supported underprivileged children for over a decade and has actively aided displaced North Korean residents, easing their hardships.
He also recalled a moment from Kim Woo-bin's illness. Shin Min-a prayed before Avalokitesvara at Namsan in Gyeongju, carrying an offering of rice on her head. "After that," he said, "Kim Woo-bin regained his health, and today they stand here hand in hand, promising a lifetime together—truly the result of a deep karmic connection."
Sharing guidance for a happy marriage, Beopryun Sunim acknowledged that living together is never easy and that differences in perspective can lead to conflict. He emphasized that marriage should be grounded not in restraint, but in freedom—urging couples to deeply respect one another's individuality.
He further stressed the importance of recognizing differences as a form of respect, and warned that love without understanding can turn into harm. Responsibility, too, was highlighted, noting that as figures loved by many, the couple carries a social duty to live upright lives.
"If you keep these principles close," he concluded, "the happiness of today will continue to grow even deeper. Once again, congratulations on your marriage."
Kim Woo-bin and Shin Min-a first met on a commercial set in 2014 and publicly dated thereafter. After overcoming illness together, they have maintained their relationship for a decade, earning widespread admiration.
Ahead of their wedding, the couple also demonstrated generosity, donating a total of KRW 300 million to multiple organizations, including Hallym Burn Foundation, Asan Medical Center, and Good Friends.
