Actor Choi Soo-jong will take the stage as a presenter at the upcoming 2025 KBS Drama Awards, stepping in for the late Lee Soon-jae.
On December 23, KBS confirmed that Choi Soo-jong will present the Grand Prize in place of Lee Soon-jae at the ceremony. Traditionally, the previous year's Daesang winner appears alongside the KBS president to announce the next recipient.
Lee Soon-jae, who received the Grand Prize last year, passed away in November, making it impossible to follow the long-standing tradition. In response, the production team reportedly reached out to Choi Soo-jong, the 2023 Daesang winner, to take on the role.
Choi Soo-jong readily accepted the offer. This will mark his second consecutive year presenting the top honor. Last year, he personally handed the Daesang trophy to Lee Soon-jae, adding deeper significance to this year's appearance as he honors the late actor's legacy.
The 2025 KBS Drama Awards will be held on December 31 at KBS Hall in Yeouido, Seoul. The ceremony will be hosted by Jang Sung-kyu, Nam Ji-hyun, and Moon Sang-min.
