Actress Han Si-a headlines the short film Target, which reexamines the death of the late O Yo-anna.
Target is a two-episode short film created by YouTuber Jin Yong-jin, reconstructing the circumstances surrounding O Yo-anna's death. The final episode will be released on December 27 via the Jin Yong-jin channel.
Han Si-a plays the lead role of Oh Ji-eun, a weathercaster who becomes a victim of workplace bullying. The role demands a wide emotional range as it traces the character's psychological turmoil.
The casting carries personal meaning for Han Si-a, who previously worked with O Yo-anna during her lifetime. "It felt like fate," she said. "She once gave me courage. Now, through my acting, I want to help ease her lingering pain, even if only a little."
O Yo-anna passed away in September last year, leaving behind a note describing workplace harassment. In the aftermath, Munhwa Broadcasting Corporation abolished its existing weathercaster system and announced a transition to full-time meteorological professionals. In October, roughly a year after her death, the network's president formally apologized to the bereaved family, pledged measures to prevent recurrence, and established a memorial space at MBC headquarters, set to remain until September 15 next year.
Han Si-a debuted in the 2014 film Thorn and appeared in JTBC's Love Me. She is also set to appear in SBS-TV's upcoming 2026 drama Sold Out Today as Well.
