Actor Oh Jung-se delivered one of his most versatile years yet, leaving a strong impression with fearless character transformations.
His first major project of the year was JTBC's Good Boy. Oh Jung-se played Min Joo-young, a customs officer who secretly controls the underground economy of Inseong City. The role introduced a chilling, unprecedented villain—seemingly ordinary on the surface, yet capable of casually pointing a gun. His icy tone, ruthless expressions, and blood-soaked visuals amplified the character's disturbing presence.
He also appeared in Disney+'s original series North Star, portraying Jang Joon-sang, a prosecutor and the younger brother of presidential candidate Joon-ik (played by Park Hae-joon). Oh Jung-se captured layered emotions with precision, expressing ambition for power, betrayal, and inner turmoil after uncovering the truth behind his brother's death.
His big-screen work stood out as well. In the film Hi-Five, he played Park Jong-min, a devoted father who puts his daughter above all else. His trademark sincerity and warmth brought laughter and heart to audiences.
Oh Jung-se's impact extended to special appearances. In Netflix's When Life Gives You Tangerines, he appeared as Yeom Byeong-cheol, the stepfather of Ae-soon (played by IU), portraying a carefree slacker who is hard to truly dislike. He recently continued his scene-stealing run with a special role as a director in tvN's Annoying Love.
His momentum shows no signs of slowing. Oh Jung-se has confirmed appearances in MBC's Fifty Percent, Genie TV's original series Climax, and the upcoming film Wild Thing.
His agency shared, "Oh Jung-se showcased remarkable versatility across multiple platforms this year. Please look forward to what new sides of him he will reveal in 2026."
