Actor Byeon Woo-seok started the new year with a meaningful act of giving, donating KRW 100 million to support vulnerable female adolescents in Korea.
On January 1, international development NGO Gfoundation announced that Byeon Woo-seok made the donation to help underprivileged girls and young women facing difficulties due to limited access to sanitary products and proper facilities.
The funds will be used to provide menstrual hygiene kits—including sanitary pads, warming packs, and feminine cleansers—along with sexual education programs and renovations of hygiene facilities such as restrooms.
Byeon explained that he chose to donate in hopes that young women would not struggle because of inadequate hygiene products or environments. He added that he wants them to be guaranteed full menstrual rights and to continue their daily lives in a safer and more comfortable setting.
A representative from Gfoundation expressed gratitude, saying the organization will responsibly use the donation to ensure that female adolescents can protect their basic rights and well-being.
Meanwhile, Byeon Woo-seok is set to appear in the upcoming drama The Crown Prince of the 21st Century, where he takes on the role of Prince Ian, the king's son who possesses status but nothing else.
