CORTIS has pulled off an unusual reverse-chart surge with its debut album.
According to Circle Chart, CORTIS topped the December monthly album chart with its debut release Color Outside the Lines. The album first dropped in August last year but climbed back to No. 1 in its fourth month of release.
Notably, aside from this album, every other title in the Top 5 was a new release launched in December, underscoring the rarity of CORTIS's comeback to the top.
Circle Chart explained, "Strong praise from global media, heightened attention during year-end wrap-up season, and the confident declaration embedded in the title track all came together to drive this reverse-chart result."
The group has indeed seen growing momentum since late last year, following broadcast appearances and award-show performances. Album sales, streaming numbers, and social media followers have all shown a clear upward trend.
The title track What You Want gained popularity as a "first song of the new year," resonating with listeners through its message of claiming what one desires without hesitation.
Meanwhile, CORTIS is set to attend the 40th Golden Disc Awards on January 10, held at Taipei Dome.
