I.M of MONSTA X will fulfill his mandatory military service this February.
According to Starship Entertainment, I.M (real name Im Chang Kyun) will enter a military training center on February 9, where he will undergo basic training before serving as an active-duty soldier in the Republic of Korea Army.
There will be no official event on the day of his enlistment. The agency asked fans to refrain from visiting the site to ensure safety and orderly operations.
I.M has previously struggled with back pain, which led him to temporarily halt activities last summer to focus on treatment and recovery. His condition has since improved significantly. Starship confirmed that he has consistently undergone rehabilitation and recently received medical clearance to participate in performances within a non-strenuous range.
Before his enlistment, I.M will take part in MONSTA X's full-group world tour. He is scheduled to perform at the Seoul concerts of "2026 MONSTA X WORLD TOUR: THE X – NEXUS," set to take place from January 30 to February 1 at KSPO DOME.
The agency emphasized that I.M's participation will be carefully adjusted based on his health condition and asked for fans' understanding and support.
