Go Min-si is set to return to the big screen with the film Moral Family.
On January 13, a representative from Mystic Story confirmed the casting in a phone interview, stating that Go Min-si will star in the project, with filming scheduled to begin in March.
Moral Family tells the story of a deeply fractured family living distorted lives. The narrative centers on a hostess who supports her family, her older brother struggling with alcoholism, a younger sister working as an online adult streamer, and a younger brother who is openly gay. Through these characters, the film explores moral ambiguity and the cracks beneath the concept of family.
The project originated as a black comedy stage play first presented in 2014 and later revived for audiences again at the end of 2023. The film adaptation involves the participation of theater troupe Geukdan Nabe, led by actress Kim Sung-kyun as producer, adding theatrical depth to the cinematic version.
Meanwhile, Go Min-si was previously embroiled in allegations related to school violence from her student years after an individual claiming to be a former classmate posted a lengthy exposé online. At the time, her agency strongly denied the claims, calling them "clearly false," and initiated legal action.
An investigation into the individual for defamation and related charges is currently ongoing, while Go Min-si proceeds with her acting activities.
