EXO are set to return as a full group with their eighth studio album REVERXE.
The album drops on major music platforms at 6 p.m. on January 19. SM Entertainment unveiled details about the title track and B-sides ahead of release, raising anticipation for EXO's long-awaited comeback.
The title track "Crown" is a hard-hitting dance song that blends Atlanta trap drums, heavy metal guitar riffs, and EDM synths. Siren effects and powerful vocals heighten the track's intensity. Lyrically, "Crown" is an EXO-style dedication, comparing a precious person to a crown and expressing a vow to protect them at all costs.
The performance stands out as well. Set within EXO's expanded universe, symbolic imagery and a signature move—grasping a crown and placing it on the head—add visual impact to the choreography.
The album features a total of nine tracks. Fans will find the winter song "I'm Home," previously revealed at a year-end fan meeting, as well as "Back It Up," first performed at the Melon Music Awards 2025.
Additional tracks showcase a wide range of moods and genres. "Crazy" captures the madness of being trapped in love, while "Suffocate" delivers restrained grooves that convey the pain of a breakup. "Moonlight Shadows," an R&B-pop track, paints a romantic scene, and "Back Pocket" is a danceable R&B song about wanting to stay close to someone you're drawn to.
"Touch & Go" likens the gradual tilt of emotions to falling dominoes through rhythmic pop, while "Flatline" closes the album with a lyrical mid-tempo pop track that compares life to a voyage.
An industry insider commented that EXO's new release signals "the true return of the kings of K-pop in 2026," adding that the music video will spotlight the group's performance highlights.
Meanwhile, EXO will hold an on-and-offline showcase at 7:30 p.m. on January 19 at the Kyung Hee University Peace Hall in Seoul.
