Actor Son Suk-ku's new film has been officially invited to compete at the Sundance Film Festival.
The organizers of the Sundance Film Festival recently unveiled the lineup for the 2026 edition, announcing that Bedford Park has been selected for the Dramatic Competition section.
Bedford Park marks the feature-length directorial debut of Stephanie Ahn. The film follows the emotional journey of a Korean American woman and a former overseas-adopted wrestler as they confront and heal from past trauma.
Choi Hee-seo stars as the protagonist Audrey, while Son Suk-ku plays Eli, the man who falls in love with her. Son also participated in the project as a co-producer.
This marks only the second time a film led by Korean actors has entered the Sundance competition section. In 2020, Minari, starring Youn Yuh-jung and Han Ye-ri, achieved the same feat.
At the time, Minari went on to win two major awards, including the Grand Jury Prize and the Audience Award in the U.S. Dramatic category.
Meanwhile, the Sundance Film Festival—now in its 42nd year—is one of the world's most prestigious showcases for independent cinema. The 2026 festival will open on January 22 in Park City, Utah.
