Actress Kim Tae-ri is set to step into the world of variety entertainment.

On January 20, tvN confirmed that Kim Tae-ri will star in its new variety program After-School Taeri Teacher, joining Choi Hyun-wook and Kangnam as after-school teachers.

After-School Taeri Teacher marks Kim Tae-ri's first-ever fixed variety show since her debut. The program centers on the only after-school theater class at a small rural elementary school, following the unique journey of students and their teachers.

Kim Tae-ri takes on the role of a theater club teacher. Her casting draws attention as she first began acting through a theater club while studying journalism and broadcasting at Kyung Hee University.

Choi Hyun-wook joins as an assistant teacher for the theater class. He is described as a counselor-like presence who listens closely even to the children's quietest voices, while also delivering laughs with his unexpectedly clumsy charm.

Kangnam also joins the lineup, bringing his signature friendliness to the classroom. A production insider shared that Kangnam plays the role of mood-maker, naturally energizing the theater club.

The production team explained that the show was inspired by real-life cases in which after-school programs helped revive schools facing closure. They added that viewers can look forward to a one-of-a-kind theater class created by three first-time teachers and their students.

After-School Taeri Teacher premieres on February 22 at 7:40 p.m. on tvN.
