Actors Park Jin-young and Kim Min-ju are set to share their first on-screen romance as youthful first loves.
On January 22, JTBC revealed the casting lineup for its upcoming drama Shining, confirming Park Jin-young and Kim Min-ju as the lead couple.
Shining is a youth romance that follows two teenagers who meet and fall in love at 19, then reunite as adults to rediscover and rebuild their relationship. The series traces the emotional growth of first love as it evolves over time.
Park Jin-young plays Yeon Tae-seo, a subway train operator with a cool exterior and a deeply emotional inner world. He is expected to delicately portray the contrast between Tae-seo's calm demeanor and lingering tenderness. Kim Min-ju stars as Mo Eun-a, a passionate manager of a traditional Seoul guesthouse, bringing warmth and charm to a character defined by enthusiasm and sincerity.
The drama is directed by Kim Yoon-jin, known for his visually refined storytelling in Our Beloved Summer and Tell Me That You Love Me. The screenplay is written by Lee Sook-yeon, who previously showcased her emotional depth in A Way to the Airport.
A production representative shared, "Yeon Tae-seo and Mo Eun-a will exchange a wide range of emotions that gently seep into viewers' hearts. Please look forward to how their shared memories will reshape their present."
Shining is scheduled to premiere this March on JTBC.
